Am/Can Ch Marlo's Bello Soldato, TT, CGC - Soldier

OFA: Hips - Good, Elbows - Normal, Heart/CERF/Thyroid - Normal, CHIC: #53295
AKC: WS 11117507
Date of Birth: December 12, 2004
Breeder: Marlene A Lore-Keene & Vickie Joy Stansberry
Sire: BISS CH"Cammcastle Victor Marlo V QR" [2005 ARC Top Twenty]
Dam: Ch Marlo's Bella Luna Angela
Owner: Michael R Hooey & Denise Hooey & Wendi Lewellen

Here is some information and background from Soldier's owners:

Soldier's good looks and correct, strong muscular type are not just the luck of the draw. Soldier comes from a lineage of champions, methodically bred for correct temperament and type. From his dark almond-shaped eyes to his solid top line, Soldier exemplifies the breed standard. Soldier's father BISS CH"Cammcastle Victor Marlo V QR" [2005 ARC Top Twenty] became a Champion before he was 12 months old, taking multiple BOB's in large prestigious shows. Soldier's mother Ch Marlo's Bella Luna Angela produced many Champions; a number of which are Soldier's brothers and sisters.

Ginger too comes from a lineage of great champions, methodically bred for correct temperament and type. This breeding will have strong influence from our foundation bitch Multi V-1 / '98 ARV Canadian National Youth Siegerin / UCI National Youth CH / CH"Sandov's Foxie Lady V Nitro", AD, CGC, RTD. Demmi has produced some of the top dogs in years past. Including - Multi V-1, Multi BOB, Group I / UCI Intl CH / Am CH "Sierra Gold's Bannor Flyn Hi"; Multi V-1, BISS, Select CH"Sierra Gold's Bea" [Bea a Top 10 Bitch was the youngest rottweiler on record to take a BISS - at 10 months old; winning over the #1 Dog and #1 Bitch] ; ARC Select, BOSS, Am/Can CH"Nighthawks Call Girl v Sierra Gold", CD [Trix, was also a Top Ten Bitch and has produced a number of Champions].

Of course not all puppies are destined to be top show dogs. Sierra Gold Rottweilers has also produced many loving, wonderful pet/companions - like, for example Bruno; "Sierra Gold's Braveheart", who's loving owners decided the show ring [even with a number of wins] took a second place to the life long enjoyment and companship of their black furry four legged kid.

Gingers first weekend in the AKC confirmation ring was very rewarding, she took a RWB and Winners Bitch for her first point. She is very sweet and loving, has great ball/play drive, and is one of those special dogs who demand your attention, in and out of the show ring. When you first look at her, you cannot help but smile; and you want to keep watching her. In other words she has tremendous ring presence - and the judges saw it right away. Since she has passed her health clearances [hips- excellent, elbows - normal, heart, CERF - Normal]. Until she was bred she was in the ring working towards her AKC Championship taking multiple WB/BOW's & BOS. Gingers father: "Multi BIS/BISS, Select CH Gamegards U.S. Marshall, RN, CGC" has proven to be the Top Producing Rottweiler stud in history. ALL puppies have been placed in loving homes!

Gonsalo has already spent 9 months in Italy earning his IPOI, ZTP, and in conformation showing. While in Europe Gonsalo had over 29 coverings - in Italy, Croatia, Serbia, and South America. Gonsalo took VI in the Milano Italy Rottweiler Specialty Show under famed Judge Olga Grin whom owns the famous Filou v Rauberweg, Felix vh Zschammer, and the greatest Mambo vd Crossener Ranch daughter you ever could find, Hella vd Crossener Ranch.

Gonsalo is a powerfully built male: big chested, good bone, great strong feet, superb top and bottom lines, big rear end, exceptional front shoulder lay, and that spectacular head which he does reproduce.

Bruno Morstabilini is one of the top 3 breeders in Italy. He has produced an endless run of excellence and when he states that Gonsalo is one of the very best Rottweilers he has bred; we have to respect this incredible breeder. Gonsalo was bred across a wide range of bitches in Italy while training for his working titles, and has consistently produced balanced bodies, powerful heads and great shoulder angles.

Here is part of a conversation Gonsalo's importer had with good friend [the Breeder] via email:

"I want to be honest with you, ever I saw a good reproductor like Gonsalo, and on my life I used a lot, and the most important German Dogs. He is excellent for good numbers - HD/ED, his front is Excellent, perfect position shoulder, deep chest and large, excellent paws, excellent neck, excellent head type with good scissor bite. You must belive me, he is a great reproductor. He produced puppies like him. If he bred female with head like a sheep, not problem, he is very dominant with [head] type, I like a lot to get back him to Italy...

Next year the most nice dogs on the shows [circuit] coming from Gonsalo. If Gonsalo to be in Europe for sure he can make 30 breedings every year. I don't know why the USA people does not want breed with him more?"

Ellie has produced puppies with excellent type, well balanced bodies with heavy bone, tight feet, and excellent top and bottom lines. Ellie has a dark eye and black mouth pigment. She could use a bit more angles in front and rear. Both Ellie and Gonsalo are clean and true on the out and back. Gonsalo has superb shoulder lay and his lines have consistently produced excellent angles. His attractive bold [and dry] head type should work well with Ellie; our lines should provide additional beauty and refinement. We expect this breeding to produce well balanced harmonious puppies, with a large beautiful head, dark eye, black mouth, very nice top and bottom lines with tight feet. Angles should be consistent and balanced; which should give the puppies very nice free floating movement.

Here are three of Ellie's puppies from her last litter with >"Multi BIS/BISS, Select CH Gamegards U.S. Marshall, RN, CGC" ---- Here they are: "Bubba - 10 months","Bubba - Show", "Boomer - 10 months", "Boomer - Show-New Champion" , "Ginger - 10 months", "Ginger - WB 2nd Show". Enjoy!

A Breeder - Is, Flaming Text

A Breeder (with a capital B) is one who thirsts for knowledge and never really knows it all, one who wrestles with decisions of conscience, convenience, and commitment.

A Breeder is one who sacrifices personal interests, finances, time, friendships, fancy furniture, and deep pile carpeting! A Breeder gives up the dreams of a long, luxurious cruise in favor of turning that all important Show into this years "vacation".

A Breeder goes without sleep (but never without coffee!) in hours spent planning a breeding or watching anxiously over the birth process, and afterwards, over every little sneeze, wiggle or cry. A Breeder skips dinner parties because that litter is due or the babies have to be fed at eight. They disregard birth fluids and puts mouth to mouth to save a gasping new-born, literally blowing life into a tiny, helpless creature that may be the culmination of a lifetime of dreams.

A Breeder's lap is a marvelous place where generations of proud and noble champions once snoozed.

A Breeder's hands are strong and firm and often soiled, but ever so gentle and sensitive to the thrusts of a puppy's wet nose.

A Breeder's back and knees are usually arthritic from stooping, bending, and sitting in the birthing box, but are strong enough to enable the breeder to Show the next choice pup to a Championship.

A Breeder's shoulders are stooped and often heaped with abuse from competitors, but they're wide enough to support the weight of a thousand defeats and frustrations. A Breeder's arms are always able to wield a mop, support an armful of puppies, or lend a helping hand to a newcomer.

A Breeder's ears are wondrous things, sometimes red (from being talked about) or strangely shaped (from being pressed against a phone receiver), often deaf to criticism, yet always fine-tuned to the whimper of a sick puppy.

A Breeder's eyes are blurred from pedigree research and sometimes blind to their own dog's faults, but they are ever so keen to the competitions faults and are always searching for the perfect specimen.

A Breeder's brain is foggy on faces, but it can recall pedigrees faster than an IBM computer. It's so full of knowledge that sometimes it blows a fuse: it catalogues thousands of good bone, fine ears, and perfect heads...and buries in the soul the failures and the ones that didn't turn out.

A Breeder's heart is often broken, but it beats strongly with hope everlasting...  and it's always in the right place! Oh, yes, there are breeder's, and then, there are BREEDER'S!!!
